Photograph of Vice Marshal Sir Keith Rodney Park commanding RAF squadrons on Malta dressed in his favourite white flying garbe preparing to fly his spitfire. He was a WWI flying ace and the Principal RAF Commander in the Battle Of Britain. The Air Chief Commander was born 15 June 1892 in Thames, New Zealand. He was referred to by the Germans as "The Defender of London" and affectionately known to the Allies as "Skipper". His honours are Knight Grand Cross GCB, the most honourable order of the Bath established by King George I in 1725, also KBE, MC & Bar and DFC.
